We have been looking forward to trying this restaurant for a long time and are so pleased it lived up to our high expectations. We ordered the fish fry starter, the meen pollichathu, and the kappa meen curry and all had deep, nuanced spices that really lifted the natural flavours of the fish. The appam -- recommended by our very friendly and helpful server -- had a fantastic texture, crispy on the edges and soft in the middle, with a pleasant sour flavour. The lemon rice was so good it could have been eaten as a main dish, but as an accompaniment to the fish curries it was perfect. As for drinks, the triveni is an amazing triple-layered 'mocktail' with blended kiwi on the bottom, mango in the middle, and strawberry on top, while the salted lassi goes perfectly with the spices. We were too full to have a sweet, but we will return to try them in future! It's a fantastic restaurant, and such a great addition for Aberdeen. As a bonus, we were very pleased to find that this restaurant stays open late -- perfect for after a show in the evening. Wonderful service and cooking!
First visit to Travancore and my first Chicken Dosa in about 5 years! Huge portion, tasted amazing and extremely good value. Will start working my way through the menu over the next few months. Mamta who served me was so friendly and helpful offered a few recommendations to try out. 100 % will be back again
Indian food from Kerala, so not the usual stuff. Lovely tasty food at reasonable prices. Make this the next Indian restaurant you visit
Went with my boyfriend and we had a fantastic Saturday night dinner! Ordered 3 main courses, one rice and the rice pancakes, we finished everything! Loved all the seafood curries and the staff are super friendly. Service was good and excellent experience overall. I highly reccommend Travancore!
Went to Travancore for the first time today for early supper. As a coeliac I was delighted to be able to have the dosa, most curries and breads made from rice/lentils. Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the new/different flavours from Kerala. Thoroughly recommend restaurant for a new taste experience. Also appreciated the chat with lovely waitress and chef who came out to talk with us.
Passed by Travancore to get some dinner on my wat home from work and oh my goodness. I had malabar chicken Curry and appam. Very delicious. All flavours sublime and mixed well together.
But if you’ve never tried appam, please try it’. It’s rare to find an Indian Restaurant actually selling appam q so do yourself s favour and try it. I’ll definitely be back !!

been back a few times now. Aberdeen is very fortunate to have a lot of great Indoan restaurants and this is one of the best. Everything we have tried has been delicious. There are always other indoan people eating there when weve been in which I always think is a good sign. great staff too
The best restaurant in Aberdeen. Ambiance and interior is very good. Neatness is also good. Staffs are friendly.
First time there, absolutely first class food and service, above and beyond your average indian restraunt
Incredible Dosa. I was staying about 1 hour away from the city and found this little gem. The Dosa was massive, possibly the biggest I’ve had. The masala filling was also super tasty. We had a selection of a few things and it was all 5 star quality.
A must cost if your are in or around Aberdeen.
